Duck Hunting- All That Fuss About Donald And Daffy!

Hunting ducks is a very popular hunting activity in the world today. Apart from being a hunting activity, it is also a great social event. In fact, it represents an entire range of etiquette rules and cultural standards that a lot of people do not consider. It has an entire culture of its own, including duck hunting assistants and dogs and the proper dress code. There is much cultural significance to duck hunting but it has its own downside representing the worse nature of humans. Whatever the point of view is, one must know everything about duck hunting before coming to any conclusion.

Most developed countries have banned commercial duck hunting so it is practiced mainly as a sporting activity. Duck hunting has been going on since time immemorial. There is evidence that goes to who that duck and geese were hunted even in the Ice age. There are many cave drawings indicating duck hunting as a sound practice in the early human existence. Ice age Europe has many indications of swan and duck hunting on cave walls. Egypt also betrays evidence of early duck hunting through a mural over Khum-Hotpe’s tomb of a man catching ducks swimming in a stream.

With such an international history, this sport enjoys a world wide popularity. The greatest number of ducks can be seen in North America and duck hunting is especially popular here. The ducks mostly use the Mississippi River to migrate and so it is a good idea to duck hunt along the river as it serves as a guide for finding the ducks. Stuttgart is considered to be the duck hunting capital of the world while Arkansas is considered a major hot bed for duck hunting.

Duck hunting has gained a lot of popularity due to its simplicity. It is a relatively simple sport and the tools of this activity are easy to follow, involving a shotgun, a decoy set and a duck call. The trick behind duck hunting is using the duck call and decoy in tandem so that the ducks are lured out into the open towards the decoy. Once the ducks are out in the open and are exposed for the hunt, the firing should begin. Usually such hunts take place in and around streams, rivers, lakes and other water bodies in which ducks are found.

Many aspects, however, contrast the sport of duck hunting. Most waterfowl conservationists agree that hunting any kind of waterfowl harms the environment to a great extent. Most of the wetland and marshlands are shrinking tremendously giving way for criticism that claims that duck hunting diminishes an already endangered habitat. There are a number of organizations that protest against duck hunters regarding this issue.

The popular organization Ducks Unlimited is one such organization. This international organization is a non-profit organization dealing with protection of marshland and waterfowl. This organization sometimes often works along with hunters in order to protect marshlands as well as the life of hunters. Their main goals is to conserve localized duck habitats so that the hunters can continue protected and hunt the ducks in such a way that the survival of the ducks can be enabled allowing them to live in a better place.

Irrespective of this, many hunters neglect this philosophy and do not bother much with protecting the habitats. Instead, they pillage the areas and hunt in places where they should not. Due to this reason, duck hunting has been associated with many controversies. As long as this continues, duck hunting will always have a bad side while many hunters will remain ignorant to organizations like Ducks Unlimited. Duck hunting might go into extinction if hunters and protectors of marshlands do not cooperate.

Duck Hunter’s Success – Must-Have Tools For Successful Duck Hunting!

Duck hunting has been a popular sport for centuries all around the world. It is considered a very challenging hunt because ducks are so shy towards other animals and anything that doesn’t seem natural to them. Because of this fact, the hunter has devised a few tools that many won’t ever leave home without. When used properly, they can greatly increase his chances of duck hunting success.

The first tool many hunters swear by is a duck call. These can be very hard to master and take a lot of practice to be used effectively. If used the wrong way, they can have just the opposite effect and drive the target away. The duck call is an instrument the hunter blows into to mimic the sound of a duck’s mate. This, when used properly, will bring ducks to the hunter. The hunter needs to be well hidden when using this tool; ducks are not only suspicious by nature, but have keen eyesight to spot anything that is amiss. Another great thing about this instrument is that it is very small and can fit into a pocket or on a chain around the hunter’s neck.

The other tool that isn’t quite as small, but nearly as effective in bringing in ducks is the duck decoy. These are generally made of wood or plastic and are painted to resemble a duck. The decoy works because ducks are naturally social animals; when they spot a few of their species, they prefer to flock together. The decoy used with the duck call can work wonders at bringing ducks in for the hunter. If he’s using the call the right way, ducks in the area will be drawn to it, and upon seeing the decoy will think that’s the one calling. The ducks will come in to land and when they’re close enough, the hunter will have his chance at a shot. The only issue a hunter can have with the decoys is their cumbersome nature. While they aren’t necessarily heavy, they can be difficult to pack and hard to juggle when walking to the hunting site. But as long as the hunter has mastered his duck call, using the decoys will be well worth the effort, and they’ll last for many seasons to come. So buy a call and some realistic decoys and start practicing for opening day, and be prepared to see the trophies come flying in!

Duck Hunt – Get Your Crosshair Set On The Duck…

The first hunting game which was developed happened back in the 1980 which was named Duck Hunt. It was made for Nintendo game systems and it was the 1st of its type “back in those times”. The game requires a special controller which looked like a pistol and you would be shooting ducks with a light which was programmed for responding the system. From the 1st day when Duck Hunt came to the arena, it became very popular with gaming people.

The graphics in the Duck Hunt were basic, especially if we compare it to what we enjoy today. You were given an outdoor setting with some trees, bushes and stuff and these ducks will come into the picture from lots of angles such that you may shoot them up. You also have another choice; you can also shoot clay pigeons in Duck Hunt. You would be accompanied by one nameless hunting dog which would clap when you get a bird and will laugh if you miss one.

As you become better in shooting those ducks, you will move up stages in Duck Hunt till the 99th stage. As with earlier video games, there was no proper ending to tell of in the Duck Hunt. After one player has advanced to stage 99, the next stage will be 00. At this stage, you will hear the wing’s flapping, but no ducks will emerge. After 10 non-duck appearances, this game might end. Another version of the game shows a dog laughing in the starting of round “0” (not level “00”). These ducks then appear randomly behind [the background] rather than flying in the usual manner; this phenomenon happens thrice. Then the dog will be laughing till “game over” appears.

There were very less reviews done on Duck Hunt, but when it was initially very popular with gamers in the early time, critics weren’t big fans of these. One critic suggested that while this game is fun for a very short time, but it became old after some stages. Even so, players loved the way Duck Hunt was especially with a special gun controller as it simulated real time duck hunting.

Though Duck Hunt wasn’t especially advanced, it was during the time it was fought and it is the basis of some duck hunting games we possess today. Computer programmers have discovered very new technologies and have applied them for video games such that now these choices include realistic environments, weapon choices, and many advanced levels which make these games very challenging. Duck Hunt started as a video game craze and helped for continuing, even today.
