Info About Indoor Paintball Arenas

Playing paintball in an indoor arena is a valuable alternative to the traditional playing of this game on outdoor typical fields. One of the biggest advantages indoor paintball has to offer is that it can be played throughout all the year. Many arenas have innovative playing environments as well as other amenities like air conditioning and showers, which many outdoor fields do not posses.

As far as the locations are concerned, warehouses are the most popular choice mainly because they are enclosed and they have large open floor plans and austere interiors which can be easily cleaned. Alternatives to warehouses would have to be agricultural centers, apartment buildings or vacant offices. The vast majority of the indoor paintball venues use a wide array of materials on the floors in order to aid control paint splatter becoming slippery which is very dangerous to the players. For this reason, coverings like rubber mats, gravel, dirt and sawdust are used to avoid unfortunate accidents that might occur during a paintball game.

The regular and traditional safety rules applicable for outdoor paintballing are still respected for indoor players. The paintball player must wear the goggles when he is in the play area and he must use barrel cover in non-play areas. He is not permitted to lift the goggles during play because it is very dangerous and the player could get hurt. Indoor field rules might restrict velocity to lower than outdoors because of the greater chance of very close-range shots.

The field layout of an indoor paintball arena can vary greatly upon the desire of the owner. For example, it can have simple doors and walls set up in order to imitate a building layout, or it can actually be in a building with rooms, stairways and hallways. Of course, a reliable method would be setting up a traditional paintball field layout. The biggest advantage is that the field is not subject to outside elements such as rain, sun or wind.

In many cases, lighting is darker or harsher in comparison to the outside, which means that shadows are also more pronounced. Sounds echo and may seem louder, to the point that you may not be able to tell where the sounds are coming from. The overall experience is intense, sometimes scary, and exciting.

The main difference between indoor and outdoor paintball fields is the cost of running them. The outdoor fields cost much less to run in comparison to indoor fields and many of the costly indoor paintball hubs have been shut down. Not to despair, because the successful ones are still operating. There are a couple of ways the indoor successes stay afloat. One is that they have to be far more diverse than other fields just to stay in competition. Not to mention, they are usually running some pretty great specials to bring in new customers and keep their current ones.

All things considered, indoor paintballing is a nice alternative to the regular traditional way of paintball, as it offers the exact same fun (even more in some cases) plus the players do not have to worry about weather conditions and they could play all night long.
